ADF Aviation crew train Afghan Pilots (0.56 mins)
Since February 2019, Australian advisors have been training and mentoring pilots and crew in the Afghan Air Force, to deliver decisive airpower operations with the UH60 Blackhawk helicopter. A team of ADF personnel, including aviation advisors and force protection, are embedded into the NATO-led, Train Advise Assist Command – Air (TAAC-Air) mission, at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. The goal of the TAAC-Air team is to build the Afghan capability to a point where they can perform all missions on their own, without any Coalition presence. Australia contributes about 300 Defence personnel to the train, advise and assist mission in Afghanistan.
