Exercise Diamond Sprint readies 7th Brigade (0.59 mins)
Soldiers from 8th/9th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, conducted live fire platoon attacks during Exercise Diamond Sprint in May 2019. The scenarios saw infantry assault a fictional enemy with live fire support from protected mobility vehicles and engineers from 2nd Combat Engineer Regiment using explosives to breach obstacles. Diamond Sprint is a two week exercise for 7th Brigade units, which sees a progression of ground up training to ensure troops are brilliant at the basics, experts in their individual craft and skilled in supporting the team in a combined arms environment. Over 1200 Australian Defence Force members from 7th Brigade and other supporting units are taking part in the exercise.
