Soldiers and marines from the Australian Army, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Marine Corps, the United States Army, and the United States Marine Corps have come together in Cairns to participate in Exercise Kowari 2018. Running from August 29 to September 5, Exercise Kowari 2018 is a trilateral military exercise designed to reinforce military relationships, trust and co-operation between Australia, China and the United States. Over six days, the Australian Army’s 51st Battalion, Far North Queensland Regiment, will lead participants through a series of adventure training activities including abseiling, sea kayaking, mountaineering and canyoning. Activities are focussed on challenging the participants to foster teamwork and resilience.
