Safe disposal of WWII explosives in the Solomon Islands (0.36 mins)

Operation RENDER SAFE 2019 is a joint Australian and New Zealand Defence Force effort working with the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, disposing of unexploded and abandoned Second World War explosives. For the first time, Adelaide, one of Australia’s Landing Helicopter Dock amphibious ships, supported the operation. The ship supported personnel as they undertake clearance and disposal activities around Vella Lavella Island, Ghizo, Kolombangara Island, Vonavona Island and north-west New Georgia Island.
