Defence Corporate Banner
We train and continually develop graduates to become trusted financial advisors to senior managers within Defence. This means we’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated graduates who are adaptable, innovative and enjoy working as part of a team.

Defence Finance Graduates will contribute to decision making and providing advice on significant parts of the Defence Budget. Their roles will include:

  • Undertaking a tailored suite of training that covers leadership, technical, operational, departmental and general skills needed in the Australian Public Service.
  • Participating in a three day familiarisation tour of Australian Defence Force establishments across Australia;
  • Undertaking real tasks and responsibilities which are fully integrated into the work team;
  • Participating in networking opportunities; and
  • Contributing to building, developing and sustaining the Australian Defence Organisation’s ‘finance capability’.

Are you seeking a career that offers exposure to diverse learning opportunities and unique development experiences? Work undertaken in the Defence Finance Graduate Stream is about much more than numbers and your contribution will count.

You will gain exposure to a wide variety of work and have access to key decision makers who lead the way in developing innovative financial solutions for government.

A Defence Finance graduate will undertake three rotations (four months duration) within designated Defence business areas. Placements will reflect the department’s priorities and where graduate skills and capabilities will be best used and developed. Most rotations are in Canberra, with the possibility of a placement in a regional business area for those who desire to gain broader experience to the Defence organisation.
