Defence has developed an online posting platform to assist with domestic postings. PostingConnect has been designed to guide you and your nominated representative through the numerous tasks related to a posting. To find out more, visit the PostingConnect website.
ADF personnel are entitled to a comprehensive Defence-paid removal to their new location. The removal is fully organised by Toll Transitions .
You will be appointed a Toll Transitions Case Manager who will coordinate all your relocation requirements, including:
arranging the uplift and delivery of your furniture, effects and vehicles,
organising long or short term storage,
arranging travel and temporary accommodation for your family,
calculating and arranging payment of your relocation allowance and entitlements,
notifying Defence Housing Australia so that they can assist you with housing in your new location, and
making good your items, should any suffer loss or damage in the move.
As a Defence family, you will receive certain relocation allowances and entitlements. These vary according to factors such as the ADF member’s rank, the size of the family and the posting location. Toll Transitions calculates and arranges payment of your allowances and entitlements. You can find out more about what you’re entitled to in Chapter 8 of the ADF Pay and Conditions Manual.
You can complete all the necessary forms for your relocation online at the Toll Transitions Defence relocations website . You will have a secure logon that you can use to track the progress of your removal and to access your details for subsequent moves.
You can also download a comprehensive Relocation Guide from the website, outlining the relocation process from start to finish and detailing your responsibilities leading up to and during the move. A hardcopy of this guide will be given to you as part of your relocation information pack, and also contains all the forms you need if you prefer to complete and post them in paper form. Defence Housing Australia, or DHA, assists you in finding and securing housing in your new location, and provides utility connection and maintenance services once you have moved in. Visit Defence Housing Australia for more details.
Once DHA receives notification of your move, you will be given access to their online home search facility, HomeFind, where you can view a range of housing. The type of housing you are entitled to will depend on the ADF member’s rank and their Defence categorisation - Member with Dependants, Member with Dependants (Unaccompanied) or Member without Dependants. Refer to Chapter 8 of PACMAN for full details of your housing entitlements.

Defence Relocations and Housing Managers are based in regional offices around Australia. These managers have considerable experience in all aspects of relocations and housing, and communicate with DHA, DCO and Toll Transitions to ensure you experience high quality service during your move.
