Around 300 members of the Australian Defence Force who will soon depart for Operation OKRA in Iraq have been officially farewelled at a parade at Gallipoli Barracks. Soldiers from the Brisbane-based 1st Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery and the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, make up the bulk of the eighth rotation of Task Group Taji. Task Group Taji is part of Operation OKRA, the ADF's contribution to the US-led Global Coalition to combat the Daesh terrorist threat in Iraq and Syria. Task Group Taji will train, advise and assist the Iraqi Security Forces in order to contribute to stability in Iraq.
