Royal Military College Exercise Open day in Cooma (1.6 mins)
Staff Cadets from the Australian Army's Royal Military College – Duntroon conducted a wide range of stability operations in fictional scenarios in Cooma, NSW in May 2018. Exercises occurred in many different areas around the town with ADF and local community members taking part to provide realism where appropriate. The purpose of stability operations are to maintain or establish a secure environment, creating the conditions for the provision of essential government services, emergency infrastructure reconstruction and humanitarian relief. The training package is designed to introduce Staff Cadets to a changing battlespace, with numerous and unpredictable threats, all operating in and amongst local populations.
