The Army Indigenous Development Program (AIDP) conducted on-the-job-training with the units from the 1st Brigade as part of a visit to Robertson Barracks from the 22nd to 26th of May 2017. The AIDP is for young Indigenous adults that want to join the Australian Army but may be challenged by reading and writing, fitness, or are just not sure if the Australian Army is for them. The AIDP is a five and a half month residential course that focuses on six key areas of Language, Literacy, and Numeracy training; Military skills, including weapon training; Physical fitness; Vocational Education and Training; Cultural appreciation; and Leadership and character development.
