Staff Cadets Navigation Exercises (1.13 mins)

Australian Army third class cadets from Royal Military College, Duntroon, continued their officer training with navigation exercises at Majura training area near Canberra on 20 February 2017. The navigation exercise provided staff cadets with the opportunity to use a map, compass and protractor to navigate their team from one point to another. Cadets were given a position on a map, converted it into a magnetic bearing then plotted their position on a map to work out their route. Staff cadets undergo 18 months of training at the college, progressing from third class to first before being commissioned as officers in the Australian Army. Royal Military College at Duntroon prepares Army officers and other selected candidates for careers in the Army by promoting leadership and integrity, by inspiring high ideals and the pursuit of excellence, and by inculcating a sense of duty, loyalty and service to the nation.
